Print Media Production: Distribution & Regulators

Distribution

The daily mirror has a subscription for newspapers, you can sign up and you can select different packages,5, 6 ,7 days subscriptions, there's subscriptions are monthly. there are three subscriptions you choose from, 4,99 gives you monday to friday then 5,99 gives you monday to saturday and finally one is a 8,99 that give you monday to sunday full week. you can have promotion codes also and get discounts on your subscriptions, to do this you will need to put the code in to the detail of the subscription, if you put your bank desation the subscrion qutomice take the money out the bank so you don't need to keep resight the subscription every month but you can quit at any time you want and choose different ig you wish at the en the month. It doesn't seem to be any type of paywall for news, only seen discounted prices for subscriptions. Some areas in coventry can have there papers delivered but thats really rare, they tend to go to the shops to get the newspapers. when you go to the publishers website you can access there social media through their website. when you type daily mirror subscriptions there pop up on the website. when you go to the play store you can download the mirror app for daily news, it has 500k downloads so it seems popular. The reason why the subscrions sales down because people get free news on social media for free, like youtube and twitter. you can download the app too. everything is slowly moving to online as time goes on, that's what i think anyway.

Regulation
The independent press standards organisation is IPSO that's what it stands for. IPSO do lot for the uk regarding newspapers and magazines. They hold newspapers and magazines for the actions and they protect individual rights. IPSO has high standards for journalism and help the maintain with freedom of expression for the press, that's what they do for the uk and all the newspapers and magazines companies in the uk

The editor code of practice is to have rules in place for all the employees who work in the industry. they will need to agree and accept the code, if not they will not get any jobs in the industry. the code sets standards for newspaper/magazines and be held by IPSO. IPSO is part of the contract between IPSO for newspapers/magazines in that regulates.
